A 5-year-old boy had his hand caught in a homemade electric wheel, severed 2 fingers; severe injuries, unable to replant.

A serious accident just happened to a 5-year-old boy while playing with a homemade electric vehicle. While the vehicle was running, the child's right hand was suddenly caught in the rotating wheel, leading to serious injury, severing the thumb and index finger.

According to information from Hanoi Children's Hospital, immediately after the accident, the child was taken to the emergency room in a state of serious injury to his right hand. Through professional evaluation, Dr. Do Hung Anh - Department of Plastic Surgery, Craniofacial Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery said: This is a particularly severe wound, with many disadvantages for preserving function.

The child has completely severed the distant knuckle of the thumb and index finger. The severed fingertip is no longer able to circulate. The blood vessel system is severed and crushed, while the fingertip tissue is also severely damaged. With this condition, doctors determined that there is no longer a possibility of replanting the severed fingers.

Medical experts warn that accidents related to homemade devices, especially electric vehicles, are not uncommon in young children. However, the consequences are often very serious, can cause limb loss, and long-term effects on children's motor function, living and psychology.

Doctors recommend that parents need to strengthen supervision, not to let children come into contact or play with homemade mechanical and electrical devices that pose a high risk. At the same time, it is necessary to equip themselves with safety knowledge and situation handling skills to limit unfortunate accidents that may occur.
