Started in March 2025, the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway project is 28km long, with a total investment of 5,800 billion VND. The expressway has a scale of 4 lanes, design speed of 80km/h.
Recorded by PV at the beginning of January 2026, after nearly 1 year of implementation, the project's shape has gradually emerged. Hundreds of workers and machinery and equipment are mobilized for construction. Along with the roadbed items, bridges and culverts, the project resettlement area is also being implemented synchronously.

The entire route currently has 41 construction teams with nearly 400 locomotives, equipment and hundreds of workers.
According to Project Management Unit 2 - Ministry of Construction (the investor), by the end of 2025, the roadbed item had been constructed over 2 million cubic meters, reaching more than 16% of the volume. In which, the volume of foundation filling reached nearly 11%.
5 bridges on the route are being constructed, with a completed volume of over 32%.
As for the Ring Road I project, the project is more than 14km long, worth 1,152 billion VND and started construction at the end of 2024. Currently, the investor is coordinating with localities to remove site congestion points for construction.

According to the leader of Vo Tranh commune, the locality has handed over 1.7km (total 1.8km) of clean ground to the construction unit. The remaining area is facing obstacles because 10 households have not been resettled.
Vo Tranh commune has planned and arranged a resettlement land area of 7.2ha, which will relocate households in the near future.
According to the plan, the road will be completed by the end of 2026, with the goal of reducing the load on National Highway 1B, synchronizing transport infrastructure, promoting investment attraction and promoting socio-economic development.
Another key transportation project in Thai Nguyen is the Ho Chi Minh road connecting to Tuyen Quang. Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh road project section Cho Chu - Trung Son intersection is nearly 29km long.

In which, the section through Thai Nguyen province is 11.51km long; through Tuyen Quang province is about 17.1km. The road started construction in June 2024 with a total investment of more than 1,600 billion VND.
Recorded by PV after a long period of construction, a trillion-VND strip of road connecting Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang has taken shape. Workers are digging and filling the roadbed, constructing bridges and culverts on the route.
Regarding the project, recently the Ministry of Construction requested Thai Nguyen province to complete all site clearance work before January 31.
Tuyen Quang will complete site clearance for 7 households/300m on the main route before January 15 and complete additional site clearance work in January 2026.
The Ministry of Construction also postponed the project completion time to the third quarter of 2026 instead of 2025 as initially planned.
Previously, in 2025, Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee sent an official letter to the Ministry of Construction on the planning of the Lang Son - Thai Nguyen expressway and Thai Nguyen - Tuyen Quang expressway.
In which, the Lang Son - Thai Nguyen expressway has a total length of about 120km, worth about 29,000 billion VND (the section through Thai Nguyen is about 50km long).
Thai Nguyen - Tuyen Quang expressway is 70km long, with a total investment of about 11,000 billion VND (the section through Thai Nguyen is 30km long).
