On the afternoon of November 5, high tides combined with heavy rain caused many roads in Ho Chi Minh City to be deeply flooded, traffic disruption, and people's lives were disrupted.
In the area of Road No. 1, Mizuki Flora urban area (Binh Hung commune, Ho Chi Minh City), rising water caused many sections to turn into "rivers". Because it is near a school, and right at school dismissal time, many parents have to wade through water, dragging their vehicles to a dead end, and carrying their children out of school.

Mr. Hoang Minh Tinh (Binh Hung commune, Ho Chi Minh City) said that although his family is less than 500 meters from the school, the father and son have to wait for the water to recede before daring to return because the road is too deep. He also had to carry his young child through flooded areas to ensure safety.
Not only in Binh Hung commune, many low-lying roads in Nha Be commune are also in a similar situation. Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thy (Nha Be commune, Ho Chi Minh City) said: "This is the first time I have seen this road flooded so deeply. I waited for more than 2 hours but the water had not yet receded."
By the evening of the same day, the water had not shown any signs of receding on many roads, not only in Binh Hung and Nha Be communes but also in District 8 (previously) and Thanh Da - Binh Quoi areas, causing many difficulties for people.

According to the forecast, the high tide in Ho Chi Minh City continues to be high above alert level 3. At Phu An station, the water level ranges from 1.69 - 1.77 m (exceeding alert level 3 by 9 - 17 cm), at Nha Be by 1.7 - 1.78 m (exceeding 10 - 18 cm).
This high tide will last until November 7-8. Low-lying areas such as Nha Be, the old District 6, the old District 8 and Thanh Da - Binh Quoi area continue to have the possibility of severe flooding. The highest peak tide is expected to appear around 3 - 4 am and 3 - 6 pm every day.
In the next 2-3 days, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to have rain, concentrated in the afternoon and evening, with heavy rain possible over 50 mm. The rain coincides with the high tide of the full moon of the 9th lunar month, causing the risk of localized flooding in many areas to increase.
A representative of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station recommends that people closely monitor warning bulletins, raise furniture, ensure electrical safety and limit travel through deeply flooded areas when there is heavy rain.
