Can Tho - The tornado damaged 9 houses in Long Phu commune, and affected households were supported to repair them.

On the afternoon of August 11, a working group of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City and representatives of related units visited Long Phu Commune, Can Tho City to visit and support people affected by natural disasters.

Previously, at around 4:00 p.m. on August 10, in Nuoc Mat 1 Hamlet, Long Phu Commune, a heavy rain with a strong tornado occurred, damaging 9 houses of people. Of which, 5 houses were severely damaged, 4 houses were slightly damaged, along with a number of other auxiliary works.

Immediately after the incident, local authorities and authorities quickly arrived to support the relocation of assets, clean up the scene and encourage affected households.

At the visit, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City presented support money from the City's Natural Disaster Prevention Fund to 5 households that suffered heavy damage. Of which, 1 household with a main house with a roof completely blown off will be supported with 20 million VND and the People's Committee of Long Phu commune will support an additional 2 million VND; the remaining 4 households will each be supported with 10 million VND. Slight damage will be handled by local forces in coordination with families.
