On the afternoon of August 5, the leader of My Ly Commune People's Committee said that at around 4:00 p.m. the same day, the tornadoes roared in many villages such as Yen Hoa, Xieng Tam, Xang Tren... The strong gusts of wind caused people to panic and run away, many images recording this scene spread on social networks, creating haunting images for many people.

"The tornado occurred in a short time, fortunately it did not cause any damage to people or property. However, people are still very confused because this area has just been severely damaged by floods," said the commune leader.

Previously, according to the report of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province, floods from July 25 to 28 caused severe damage to My Ly commune with more than 200 houses swept away, buried or severely damaged by floods. The total damage in the commune is estimated at about 500 billion VND.

In Nghe An province alone, the recent flood killed 4 people, affected 7,500 houses, of which 418 houses collapsed and were completely washed away; 1,240 houses had their roofs blown off; more than 5,400 houses were deeply flooded, and their property was severely damaged. The estimated damage to the whole province is up to VND3,390 billion, mainly focusing on houses, people's assets and transport infrastructure.

Currently, local authorities are coordinating with military forces, police, unions, etc. to focus on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, supporting people to restore their houses, stabilize their lives and production.

In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.
