On July 23, the People's Committee of Ba Chuc commune (An Giang) said that the tornado caused many houses in the commune to collapse and have their roofs blown off.
According to initial information, at around 7:10 a.m. on July 23, a large tornado swept through Ba Chuc commune. Initial preliminary estimates have damaged 19 houses, 1 health station's roof was completely blown off, and many properties were severely damaged. The property damage has not yet been counted.

Immediately after the incident, the local authorities of Ba Chuc commune were present at the damaged areas, mobilizing forces and people to support the cleaning of the scene and temporarily covering the area. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Mr. Vo Thanh Tuan - Chairman of Ba Chuc Commune People's Committee - said: "We are directing functional agencies to urgently support affected households, especially families in difficult circumstances, in order to soon stabilize their lives. Currently, the locality is developing a plan to support the cost of repairing houses and recommending the province to provide emergency support to affected people".
