According to the reflection of people in Cam Due commune (Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh province), in recent days, they have discovered dead pigs dumped on the N5 canal between village 1 and village 2, Cam Due commune.
The dead pigs have decomposed heavily, giving off a foul smell. The incident was photographed and posted on social media with great indignation and dissatisfaction.
They requested that authorities and local authorities verify and strictly handle violators who throw pigs into the environment.
On the afternoon of June 22, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Vo Ta Ky - Chairman of Cam Due Commune People's Committee - said that recently in Cam Xuyen district in general, Cam Due commune in particular, African swine fever occurred, causing many households with pigs to die.
Mr. Ky said that he will conduct an inspection to collect the dead pigs to bury and destroy, and at the same time clarify whether someone threw the dead pigs into the canal, causing environmental pollution and potential disease spread.
"We have propagated and recommended that households with affected pigs must report to destroy them in accordance with regulations, both ensuring the environment and limiting the spread of the disease. If someone throws dead pigs into the environment, when it is clarified, we will strictly handle it according to regulations, Mr. Ky shared.
