At noon on December 1, Principal of Hanoi College of Tourism Pham Van Long had a dialogue and answered questions about each allowance for participating in A80 with students.
The dialogue took place in the context that many students of the school were upset because they were only supported with 940,000 VND when practicing for the A80 ceremony, while students from other schools received 1.6-2.2 million VND.

At the beginning of the dialogue, Principal Pham Van Long encouraged students to ask directly and ask clearly to answer.
"My guiding viewpoint and the school's is to put the interests of students first, regardless of the context. During the implementation process, the school had not informed the students in time. Today, the school provides all information and questions from students" said Mr. Long.
A female student asked, I and my friends wondered if the document on spending money for each training session to attend A80 stated that it was 80,000 VND, not 60,000 VND as they received.
Mr. Pham Van Long informed that initially, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed to pay 80,000 VND per training session, but then only approved 60,000 VND/session.
The principal of Hanoi College of Tourism said that this is an approved fee for all schools attending this event, but it may be because the school has not informed students in time.
Mr. Pham Van Long said that the school's students participated in the A80 program for a total of 22 sessions. The policy regime was announced by Mr. Long as follows: 17 student training sessions received 60,000 VND/session; 3 preliminary and final approval sessions received 180,000 VND/session and 2 official sessions received 200,000 VND/session. The total amount spent on students participating in these 3 items is 1,960,000 VND.
The State will pay for expenses such as transportation and drinking water, while the cost of food will be calculated: A main meal is 30,000 VND and a supplementary meal is 10,000 VND/student.
"We have 11 days of official training, including 1 main meal and 1 extra meal each day, the meal fee is 440,000 VND/student. Thus, the remaining amount of training students receives is 1,520,000 VND" - Mr. Long said.
When students asked why the amount was not clearly stated on the receipt when signing the receipt, Mr. Long said: "Teachers think it is very simple to say that when you receive the money, you enter the money, to confirm the amount of money you receive through your writing.
However, the teachers did not explain this, so they considered it a lie. The school would like to learn from this issue."
The principal of Hanoi College of Tourism affirmed that there is no fake signing because to complete the payment of money and documents, there are many other things.
Another student expressed his question, why did the school initially take the student's account number but give them cash? The principal of Hanoi College of Tourism explained that the number of students participating in the A80 training program was nearly 1,000 students, the school had provided food in advance, so if the transfer was made, students would have to return the previous allowance to the school.
Therefore, to make it more convenient for students, the school spends cash. The amount of money they are supported with is 1,960,000 VND, 11 days is 440,000 VND for food.
"So, the actual salary for students is 1,520,000 VND" - Mr. Long said.
According to Mr. Long, the reason the school divided the allowances into 2 installments was to want to pay a part for the student honoring ceremony, and issue a certificate. The school has learned from experience when information was not complete and timely to students.
Concluding the dialogue, Principal of Hanoi College of Tourism Pham Van Long affirmed that he would pay a second allowance to students at the honoring ceremony with an amount of 580,000 VND and a certificate.
