The online job platform Vieclam24h has just announced the "Summary of the Vietnamese labor market in early 2025". This unit surveyed workers and businesses in early March on the labor market in the first 2 months of the year.
According to the survey, in January and February, the Vietnamese labor market recorded positive signs of recovery compared to the same period in 2024.
Accordingly, recruitment demand increased by 19,9% compared to the previous year. However, this increase has not gone hand in hand with the labor supply, as the demand for job search has not been met evenly across industries.
According to Vieclam24h, the IT industry had a slight decrease of 2% in recruitment demand in the first 2 months of the year, while the number of workers looking for jobs increased by 18%.
However, the salary for software IT positions is still among the highest in the market and businesses are still "thirsty" for high-quality human resources.
Talking to Lao Dong, Ms. Dao Thu Phuong - CEO of Sieu Viet Group - Vieclam24h - said that the current labor market records a large difference in recruitment between occupations.
Some industries are seriously lacking in human resources, while many industries have a surplus of labor, increasing competition and making it difficult for businesses to recruit.
Ms. Phuong believes that rapid development of technology creates a need for new skills, while many candidates are not ready to upgrade or have not accessed appropriate training, extending the labor supply - demand gap, especially in industries that require highly skilled workers.
"Enterprises should invest heavily in retraining and improving skills to help workers from redundant industries move to fields with high demand. In addition, cooperation between businesses and universities and colleges during the training process will help students gain practical skills right from school, shortening the gap between training and actual recruitment" - Ms. Phuong proposed.
At the March 2025 working session of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra requested the units under the ministry to focus and deploy many tasks.
In particular, the Minister proposed to focus on effectively implementing policies and measures to stabilize the labor market to ensure job creation, security and order, human security, social security and people's safety;
There are solutions to develop a modern, flexible, synchronous, interconnected, multi-sectoral, multi-sectoral labor market, meeting the requirements of international integration and effectively regulating labor supply and demand;
At the same time, report to the Prime Minister on proposing mechanisms and policies for work permits for foreigners working in the semiconductor industry, in the spirit of "flat borders" in attracting high-quality human resources to Vietnam.
