Opening 1 bottom discharge gate of Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requests the opening of 1 bottom discharge gate of Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir from 4:00 PM on August 6 to regulate the reservoir.

On the afternoon of August 6, Hoa Binh Hydropower Company said that the unit will open 1 bottom discharge gate of Hoa Binh Hydropower reservoir at 4:00 PM on the same day to regulate the reservoir according to the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

According to the announcement of Hoa Binh Hydropower Company, at 7:00 AM on August 6th, the upstream water level of Hoa Binh Lake was at an elevation of 104 m, the downstream water level was 12.08 m. The inflow to the lake reached 3,861 m3/s, while the total inflow discharged downstream was 2,855 m3/s.

The opening of the discharge gate is carried out according to Official Dispatch No. 8825/CD-BNNMT dated August 6.

After opening 1 bottom discharge gate from 4:00 PM, the total water flow downstream is expected to increase to about 4,580 m3/s.

Hoa Binh Hydropower Company requests agencies, units, and local authorities in the downstream area to coordinate in implementing measures to ensure safety for people, vehicles and riverside activities during the lake's water discharge operation.
