The road is like a bottleneck
Package No. 60: Construction of the extended road belonging to the inter-regional traffic road project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C from Phu Tho province to Yen Bai (now Lao Cai province) is currently under construction.
According to records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in the last days of February, the end point of the inter-regional road extends at Km76+150 National Highway 32 (belonging to Van Xuan commune, adjacent to Tam Nong Regional Health Center).
Meanwhile, the section of road at the beginning of Phong Chau bridge connecting to Van Xuan commune adjacent to National Highway 32 becomes a three-way intersection (opposite gas station No. 08).
According to estimates, the distance calculated from the end point of the inter-regional road extending to the beginning of Phong Chau bridge is about 230m long. Looking at the whole scene, this road section looks like a bottleneck.
It can be seen that this road section is often crowded with traffic. Along with that, both sides of the road are close to people's houses, there are markets and many stalls selling flowers and fruits on the sidewalk.
Mr. Bui Van Tuyen - owner of a business store in the Phong Chau bridgehead area in Van Xuan commune - shared: "Since the new bridge, there has been a lot of traffic, many large trucks regularly move across the bridge to go to Viet Tri and vice versa, so I think the expansion of the road section through the market is urgent.
Along with that, both the extended inter-regional road and Phong Chau bridge (including the bridgehead road) are designed according to level III delta road standards, with a design speed of 80 km/h.
Therefore, the expansion of the above road section will help traffic become synchronized, eliminate bottlenecks, and reduce congestion.
Nearly 200 billion VND supplemented for Phu Tho to implement the project
Previously, on February 9, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc just signed Decision No. 262/QD-TTg on adjusting the central budget reserve source for 2024 assigned to the Ministry of Construction to supplement with corresponding targets for Phu Tho province.
Specifically, transferring 196.596 billion VND from the central budget reserve for 2024 assigned to the Ministry of Construction in Decision No. 1389/QD-TTg dated November 15, 2024 of the Prime Minister to supplement with corresponding objectives for Phu Tho province to implement the project to expand the road connecting Phong Chau bridge to the regional link road (Project).
The Prime Minister assigns the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee to notify or decide on the detailed allocation of the above-mentioned targeted additional capital to affiliated agencies and units in accordance with the law on state budget, public investment and relevant legal regulations.
At the same time, direct relevant agencies and units to urgently complete investment procedures and allocate capital plans in accordance with the provisions of the State Budget Law, the Law on Public Investment and relevant legal regulations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and the right purpose and users.
Along with that, organize the implementation and disbursement of additional capital with the above-mentioned objectives in accordance with legal regulations; be responsible for the disbursement results of the Project.
In addition, Phu Tho province is fully responsible to the Prime Minister, inspection, examination, audit agencies and relevant agencies for the accuracy of the contents, reported data, project list and capital allocated to the Project to ensure compliance with the law; implement the reporting regime according to current regulations...
