According to information from Tra Co Border Guard Station, at about 3:15 am on January 12, the unit received a call for support from a wooden-hulled fishing vessel with license plate QN-90425-TS operating in Tra Co sea area.
Immediately after that, Tra Co Border Guard Station urgently mobilized vehicles and many officers and soldiers to approach the scene, coordinating to bring the victim ashore for emergency treatment.
However, according to a statement from the doctor, the victim died before being taken to the hospital.
The initial cause was determined to be that while fishing with his wife and another person at sea, Mr. L.S.Th. (50 years old, residing in zone 5, Phong Coc ward, Quang Ninh province) was unfortunately wrapped in a net, pulled into the rear winch, leading to a tragic accident.
Currently, the victim's family has completed the procedures to bring the victim's body back to their hometown for burial. Tra Co Border Guard Station has supported the victim's family with 5 million VND for funeral arrangements.
