On August 1, the People's Committee of Dong Trach commune (Quang Tri province) coordinated with relevant departments and branches to collect and handle a large number of pigs that died from the epidemic.
Previously, many pigs drifted downstream from Vuc Non reservoir to the border area between Dong Trach commune and Bo Trach commune, causing environmental pollution.
Through inspection, the authorities determined that about 50 dead pigs (each weighing from 30-100kg) were thrown into the canals.
On the same day, the People's Committee of the commune mobilized human resources and means to collect and bury all the dead pigs according to the disease handling process, ensuring environmental hygiene.
Currently, African swine fever is still complicated in Quang Tri. The Dong Trach commune government is stepping up propaganda and inspection to prevent the situation of littering, minimizing the risk of spreading.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, many dead pigs were discovered on the Nhat Le River as well as streams in the province. The local government has collected, cleaned up, and buried it according to regulations.
