On June 19, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Bui Van Chuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Long Commune, Cam Thuy District, Thanh Hoa Province - said that local people have no longer gathered to protest the pig farm causing environmental pollution.

"After the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (C05 - Ministry of Public Security) stepped in, went to the locality to check and collect water samples to clarify the incident, people were assured and no longer concentrated on protesting, waiting for the results from the authorities" - Mr. Chuong informed.
According to Mr. Chuong, during the incident, when people gathered to protest the polluted pig farm, the local government regularly coordinated with competent authorities to propagate and dialogue to stabilize the situation. Up to now (June 19), the police force is continuing to work in the locality to verify and clarify the incident.
The pig farm owner is also working to overcome the pollution by collecting wastewater flowing into the environment and bringing it to the farm's biological tank for treatment.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, since the beginning of June 2025, dozens of households in Long Tien village have continuously protested the prolonged discharge of waste from the farm, affecting the health, daily life and the cemetery area of the village.
After receiving the feedback, Cam Thuy District People's Committee, Cam Long Commune People's Committee and relevant agencies inspected the scene. At the pond containing water adjacent to Tra Boi dam, near the pig farm, black water was recorded, giving off a foul smell. The ditch near the dam is about 5m wide, 70m long, 350m2 wide, and also has black water and a strong stench.
In the area where people reported, the authorities discovered a wastewater pipeline from the pig farm discharged into Tra Boi dam. The wastewater is black and has a distinct odor. In previous days, there were dead fish in this dam, although the number was not large.
Working with the authorities, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh - the farm owner - admitted the violation, apologized to the people of Long Tien village and pledged to fix the problem, lining the tank, collecting and treating all generated wastewater.
It is known that Mr. Chinh's farm has a scale of 2,400 sows and nearly 5,000 sows/catch, divided into 2 farms, operating since 2018.
