On the evening of June 22, a 7-seat car traveling through the spillway in Minh Thai village 1 (Thai Son commune, Ham Yen, Tuyen Quang) was swept away by rising floodwaters. At the time of the incident, there were 5 people on the bus (all drivers) residing in Ha Giang City. Fortunately, the people in the car were able to escape safely in time.
According to the Tuyen Quang Province Hydrometeorological Station, from June 20 to 22, areas in the province will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places will have very heavy rain. The soil moisture in many areas in the province is in a state of near saturatation (over 80%) or has reached a state of saturatation.
Many areas in Ham Yen, Na Hang, Chiem Hoa, Lam Binh, Yen Son, Son Duong districts and Tuyen Quang city are at risk of landslides, threatening people's lives, causing local traffic congestion, destroying works causing socio-economic damage.
More than 20 houses in Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang city, Ham Yen district were flooded, mud and dirt flooded into their houses, causing damage to property in their houses. The landslide at Keo Nang Pass in Lam Binh District is about 200 m3, causing traffic congestion.
Warning level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow is level 3.
To proactively respond to and minimize damage, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province issued Document 3402 dated June 20, 2025, strengthening the work of preventing, combating and overcoming damage caused by natural disasters before the 2025 storm season.
Accordingly, the People's Committees of districts, cities, agencies and functional units are required to closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts of natural disasters and weather to promptly and regularly notify and guide authorities and people to proactively prevent and minimize damage.
Deploy shock forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods and landslides, to proactively organize the evacuation of people when situations arise.
Increase information, disseminate instructions to people on how to recognize and cope with thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning, hail and flash floods, landslides.
