Quang Ngai - Prolonged continuous rain caused a large amount of soil and rock to landslide and collapse onto the road, causing traffic jams for many hours.

On August 20, the People's Committee of Tu Mo Rong commune, Quang Ngai province said that it had contacted the road management unit, urgently mobilized personnel and vehicles to clear National Highway 40B, the section through Mang Roi pass.

Mang Roi Pass connecting Tu Mo Rong, Kon Dao and Mang Ri communes is a vital traffic route. In recent days, heavy rain has caused hundreds of cubic meters of soil, rocks, and sludge to collapse onto the road, causing congestion.

People and vehicles cannot yet travel through the road. The road management and maintenance unit has now mobilized excavators to be on duty to rake and bulldoze soil, and soon clear the road.

In the rainy and storm season, the road through Mang Roi pass is always potentially dangerous. In addition to thick fog, heavy rain also causes soil and rocks from the mountains to fall down, threatening the safety of people passing through and vehicles transporting goods.

Heavy rain in recent days in the mountainous area of Dak Long commune has also caused at least 3 households to be affected by landslides and riverbank erosion.
