On the night of June 22, dozens of officers and soldiers of Lang Son Provincial Police overcame the fierce flood, spent the night approaching isolated areas in Nhat Tien commune (Bac Son district), evacuating people and providing food.
Due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, many areas in Bac Son district were deeply flooded, of which Nhat Tien commune was the seriously affected area. Many households were isolated, their properties and crops were submerged in water.

In the face of the emergency situation, Lang Son Provincial Police sent the Mobile Police and Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police to deploy rescue forces.
3 specialized vehicles, 4 motor boats and nearly 60 officers and soldiers were mobilized, coordinating with the police of Nhat Hoa and Nhat Tien communes to urgently set out for duty.

At around 6:00 p.m. the same day, the motorboats had reached many households that were isolated by floodwaters. The police force evacuated people and transported assets out of the danger zone.
Despite the darkness and strong floodwaters, the rescue team continued to immerse themselves in the water, row boats, and used ropes to cross the deeply flooded area to bring food and relief supplies inside.
"There are officers and soldiers who have been soaked in water continuously for many hours, and only withdraw from the scene from the afternoon to nearly midnight," a leader of the Provincial Police shared.


As of 11:10 p.m., relief work in the isolated villages was still maintained. Food such as instant noodles, drinking water, cakes... are distributed directly to each household. Many people said that this was the first supply trip since being isolated at noon the same day.
Previously, on the afternoon of June 22, informing reporters, Ms. Phung Thi Thanh Nga - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Son district said that by 4:00 p.m. the same day, the rain had basically stopped and traffic landslides in the area.
According to the reviews from the communes and towns as of 4:00 p.m. the same day, 2 people were injured, including 1 child.
Damage to houses and property, 18 houses were damaged, 13 houses were flooded in Long Dong, Van Thuy, Tan Lap, Tan Thanh, Nhat Tien, Tran Yen, Dong Y communes.

Along with that, over 506 hectares of agricultural areas were damaged, landslides occurred in some locations on National Highway 1B and district and inter-commune roads.
"After receiving information about the damage, local authorities, local forces and people proactively supported 5 affected families to move their assets and remaining belongings out of their homes, the families affected by the landslide and other families at high risk of landslides to safe places.
In the area where the settlement was made, the District People's Committee mobilized military forces, police and surrounding communes to support the people," said Ms. Nga.
