According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 9:00 AM on May 11, in the Da River system, large lakes continued to record high water inflows.
Lai Chau Hydropower Lake reached a water level of 294.8 m, approaching the normal water level, the inflow to the lake reached 1,691 m3/s and discharged for power generation 1,486 m3/s.
Son La Hydropower Lake welcomed a very large amount of water inflow of 2,272 m3/s, currently discharging 605 m3/s of electricity; while Hoa Binh Hydropower discharged 981 m3/s of electricity, the water level reached 106.6 m.
Huoi Quang Hydropower and Ban Chat Hydropower reservoirs maintain water levels close to the normal level, without regulating discharge. Thac Ba Hydropower reservoir generates electricity at 74.17 m3/s.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Hydropower reservoir has a water level of 110.5 m, nearly 10 m lower than the normal water level; water inflow to the reservoir reached 100 m3/s and has not been discharged.
The North Central region recorded moderate water flow to the reservoir. Trung Son Hydropower Lake reached a water level of 155.95 m; Ban Ve Hydropower reached 184.16 m. Khe Bo Hydropower Lake discharged 95.5 m3/s of electricity, while Quang Tri Hydropower discharged 18 m3/s.
In the South Central Coast, Song Tranh 2 Hydropower Plant generates 105 m3/s of electricity; Song Bung 2 Hydropower Plant discharges 17 m3/s; Vinh Son A Hydropower Plant generates 5.83 m3/s of electricity.
A Vuong Hydropower Plant, Song Ba Ha Hydropower Plant and Song Hinh Hydropower Plant have not yet discharged regulating water.
In the Central Highlands, many reservoirs increased discharge for power generation such as Se San 4 Hydropower Plant (365 m3/s), Dong Nai 3 Hydropower Plant (97.55 m3/s), Ham Thuan Hydropower Plant and Da Mi Hydropower Plant. Tri An Hydropower Plant in the Southeast region generates 357 m3/s of electricity, with water flow to the reservoir reaching 150 m3/s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 11, the Northwest region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy to very heavy rain. The Northeast region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; especially the mountainous region will have locally heavy to very heavy rain.
