Hydropower reservoirs across the country are lower than the normal water level, many reservoirs are operating to generate electricity with large discharge flows to meet the needs of the power system.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 9:00 AM on June 14, in the Northwest region, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded the largest water inflow to the reservoir, reaching 2,356 m3/s, while the total discharge flow reached 1,864 m3/s. The reservoir water level is at an elevation of 99.81 m, 17.19 m lower than the normal water level.

Son La Lake reached an elevation of 195.8 m, water inflow to the lake 675 m3/s, total discharge volume 1. 193 m3/s. Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 287.38 m, 7.62 m lower than the normal water level, with water inflow to the lake 884 m3/s and total discharge volume 1. 064 m3/s.

Reservoirs in the Da River basin continue to maintain power generation with large discharge flows. Among them, Huoi Quang reservoir has a water level of 369.71 m, only 0.29 m lower than the normal water level. Ban Chat reservoir reached 447.96 m, 27.04 m lower than the normal water level.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 98.03 m, 21.97 m lower than the normal water level, water inflow to the reservoir reaches 106 m3/s and total discharge is 163.07 m3/s.

Thac Ba Lake is at 49.45 m, 8.55 m lower than the normal water level and has not been discharged.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has a water level of 157.01 m, nearly 3 m lower than the normal water level, the inflow to the lake reached 234 m3/s and the total discharge volume was 436 m3/s.

Khe Bo Lake is operating with a total discharge volume of 95.5 m3/s. Meanwhile, Ban Ve Lake has a water level of 175.26 m, 24.74 m lower than the normal water level and has not yet discharged water.

In the South Central Coast, most reservoirs have low water inflow. Song Bung 4 reservoir both generates electricity and discharges with a total flow rate of 40 m3/s. Song Ba Ha reservoir discharges 120 m3/s, significantly higher than the water inflow rate of 26 m3/s. Song Hinh reservoir maintains a total discharge rate equivalent to the water inflow to the reservoir, at 15.22 m3/s.

The Central Highlands region recorded many reservoirs operating for electricity generation. Se San 3 reservoir has a water inflow rate of 218 m3/s and a total discharge rate of 320 m3/s; Se San 3A reservoir has a water inflow rate of 384 m3/s, a total discharge rate of 370 m3/s. Ialy reservoir reached a water level of 496.08 m, 18.92 m lower than the normal water level, with a total discharge rate of 122 m3/s.

Notably, An Khe reservoir is discharging through the spillway at 8 m3/s, while Buon Kuop reservoir discharges through the spillway at 15.07 m3/s. These are reservoirs that are discharging through the spillway at the time of update.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 54.77 m, 7.23 m lower than the normal water level. The inflow to the reservoir reached 370 m3/s, while the total discharge was 520 m3/s.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 14, the Northern region will be hot and sunny, with intense heat in some places. From tomorrow evening, the Northern region will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain, especially the delta area will have showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will be hot, with intense heat in some places with the highest daily temperature commonly 35-37 degrees Celsius, in some places above 38 degrees Celsius.
