Water levels of hydropower reservoirs nationwide on May 15th

Many hydropower reservoirs across the country continue to be lower than the normal water level, while large reservoirs in the North maintain high water flow.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 8:00 AM on May 15, in the Northern region, reservoirs on the Da River system continued to operate with large discharge flows.

Son La Lake reached a water level of 204.48 m, water inflow to the lake 1.368 m3/s, total discharge volume 2.072 m3/s. Hoa Binh Lake reached 105.63 m, water inflow to the lake 2.530 m3/s and total discharge volume 2.523 m3/s.

Lai Chau Lake recorded a discharge flow of 1,010 m3/s, while Tuyen Quang Lake discharged 489.02 m3/s through power generation. Thac Ba Lake maintained a total discharge volume of nearly 75 m3/s.

Ban Chat and Huoi Quang reservoirs have low water inflow and have not generated electricity.

In the North Central region, the water level of the reservoirs fluctuates around the normal water level. Trung Son Lake has a water inflow of 134 m3/s; Ban Ve Lake 48 m3/s; Khe Bo Lake discharges 232.4 m3/s through power generation; Quang Tri Lake discharges 18 m3/s.

In the South Central region, most lakes have low water flow. A Vuong Lake reaches a water level of 366.88 m with a flow of 21.01 m³/s; Song Tranh 2 reached 167.57 m; Ba Ha River 103.22 m; Hinh River discharges 19.03 m³/s.

Some lakes such as Song Bung 2 and Song Bung 4 are almost without water.

The Central Highlands region records many power generation lakes with significant discharges such as Pleikrong discharge of 125 m³/s, Ialy discharge of 58 m³/s, Se San 3A discharge of 282 m³/s, Se San 4 discharge of 400 m³/s, Buon Tua Srah discharge of 64 m³/s.

Don Duong and Dai Ninh reservoirs discharged about 24 m3/s.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 57.17 m, a water inflow rate of 180 m3/s and a total discharge rate of 363 m3/s.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 15, the Northern region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and tonight; tomorrow it will be hot, with intense heat in some places. The highest temperature is commonly 35 - 37 degrees Celsius, with some places above 37 degrees Celsius.

The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang city and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will have hot and intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 36 - 38 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C.

The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places; hot sunny days, the East has places with intense heat above 37 degrees Celsius.
