On June 16, the water level of many hydropower reservoirs across the country was still lower than the normal water level and is being operated safely according to procedures.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 3:00 PM on June 16, in the North, large reservoirs in the Da River basin continued to maintain high water inflow and discharge.

Hoa Binh Lake has a water level of 99.31 m, 17.69 m lower than the normal water level; Son La Lake reached 195.28 m, 19.72 m lower; Lai Chau Lake reached 287.64 m, 7.36 m lower.

Notably, Huoi Quang Lake has a water level of 368.52 m, only 1.48 m lower than the normal water level.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has a water level of 155.91 m, 4.09 m lower than the normal water level; Ban Ve Lake reached 174.94 m, 25.06 m lower. Khe Bo Lake has a water level of 64.46 m, only 0.54 m lower than the normal water level.

The South Central Coast region recorded many lakes with water levels lower by 2 - 20 m compared to normal water levels. In which, A Vuong lake reached 360.41 m, lower than 19.59 m; Song Bung 2 lake reached 586.32 m, lower than 18.68 m; Song Tranh 2 lake reached 158.09 m, lower than 16.91 m.

In the Central Highlands, many lakes are approaching the normal water level, such as Se San 3 reaching 303.59 m, down 0.91 m; Se San 3A reaching 238.71 m, down 0.29 m; Srepok 3 reaching 271.75 m, down 0.25 m and An Khe reaching 428.58 m, down 0.42 m. Lake Ialy has a water level of 496.05 m, down 18.95 m compared to the normal water level.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 54.5 m, 7.5 m lower than the normal water level. The inflow to the reservoir reached 320 m3/s, while the total discharge reached 850 m3/s.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 16, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain. The delta area will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. The rain time will be concentrated in the late afternoon and night.

The area from southern Thanh Hoa to Da Nang and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will be hot, with intense heat in some places with the highest common temperature of 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C.

The Central Highlands and Southern regions will be sunny during the day, with showers and scattered thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with locally heavy rain.
