According to data from the reservoir operation monitoring and management system at 11:00 AM on August 6th, the Northwest region recorded Hoa Binh reservoir with an upstream water level reaching 103.11 m, lower than the normal water level by 13.89 m. Water inflow to the reservoir reached 4,551 m3/s, total discharge volume 2,776 m3/s, all through the plant.
Son La Lake reached a water level of 197.29 m, water inflow to the lake 3,268 m3/s, total discharge volume 3,281 m3/s. Lai Chau Lake is at 291.58 m, water inflow to the lake 2,226 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,508 m3/s.
The two reservoirs of Ban Chat and Huoi Quang have water levels of 471.35 m and 368.23 m respectively, both operate to generate electricity and do not discharge through spillways.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir reached a water level of 106.36 m, water inflow to the reservoir 1,232 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,229.03 m3/s, of which discharge through the spillway was 497 m3/s with 1 deep discharge gate operating.
In the North Central region, Trung Son reservoir reached 152.03 m, water inflow to the reservoir 1,216 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,274 m3/s, of which discharge through the spillway was 786 m3/s with 6 open surface discharge gates. Ban Ve reservoir reached 180 m, Khe Bo reservoir reached 64.33 m, and Quang Tri reservoir was at 457.8 m and did not discharge water.
In the South Central Coast, A Vuong reservoir reached 352.54 m, Song Bung 4 reached 208.6 m, Song Tranh 2 reached 150.35 m, Song Ba Ha reached 102.26 m. Most of the reservoirs in the area operate to generate electricity, not discharging through spillways.
In the Central Highlands region, Ialy reservoir reached 498.86 m, Pleiku 544.77 m, Se San 4 211.93 m. Buon Kuop reservoir discharged 195.53 m3/s, of which 15.53 m3/s through the spillway with 1 deep discharge gate open. An Khe reservoir discharged 6 m3/s, including 4 m3/s through the spillway and 2 m3/s through the plant.
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir reached a water level of 53.43 m, water inflow to the reservoir 640 m3/s, total discharge volume 846 m3/s. Thac Mo reservoir reached 203.6 m and did not discharge water.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on August 6, the Northern and North Central regions will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain.
The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places, especially in the afternoon and evening there are scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain in some places.
