According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 1:30 PM on February 8th, the water levels of Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, Son La, and Hoa Binh hydropower reservoirs were lower but closer to the normal water level.
Tuyen Quang Lake has an upstream water level of 113.65 m, water inflow to the lake 128 m3/s, total discharge volume 123.56 m3/s.
Son La Lake reached a water level of 214.61 m, water inflow to the lake 456 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,192 m3/s.
Hoa Binh Lake recorded a large inflow of water, reaching 1,423 m3/s, while the total discharge was at 316 m3/s.
In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has a water level of 159.27 m, the inflow and total discharge volume are both at 75 m3/s. Ban Ve Lake and Quang Tri Lake have not yet discharged water.
In the South Central region, many reservoirs such as A Vuong, Song Bung 2, Vinh Son A, Song Tranh 2, Song Ba Ha have water levels lower than normal water levels by 1–3 m, the water flow to the reservoir is generally low and has not been discharged through the spillway dam.
In the Central Highlands and Southeast regions, the water levels of Thuong Kon Tum, IaLy, Pleiku, and Tri An reservoirs are basically stable.
Some reservoirs such as An Khe, Srepok 3, and Buon Kuop discharge water with small flows, mainly through power plants, and the number of deep and surface discharge gates is low.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for February 8th, the Northern and North Central regions will have rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places. The North will be very cold, with severe cold in some mountainous areas. The North Central region will be cold, with severe cold in some places.
The area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang city and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai will have rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places.
