Water levels of hydropower reservoirs nationwide on June 8th

Water levels at many large hydropower reservoirs across the country continue to be significantly lower than normal water levels.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 4:00 PM on June 8, in the Northwest region, Hoa Binh Hydropower reservoir recorded an upstream water level at 97.52m, 19.48m lower than the normal water level (117m).

Son La Hydropower Lake is at 195.92m, 19.08m lower than the normal water level. Meanwhile, Lai Chau Lake reaches 288.37m, 6.63m lower than the design elevation.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake has a water level of 98.05m, nearly 22m lower than the normal water level of 120m.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake reached 156.59m, only about 3.4m lower than the normal water level. Ban Ve Lake is at 176.27m, nearly 24m lower than the altitude of 200m. Quang Tri Lake reached 465.96m, about 14m lower than the normal water level.

In the South Central Coast, the water level of many lakes is still below the design threshold. A Vuong Lake reached 361.41m, nearly 19m lower than the normal water level; Song Tranh 2 Lake at 159.88m, 15m lower; Song Ba Ha Lake reached 102.84m, about 2.2m lower.

The Central Highlands region recorded some lakes with water levels approaching normal water levels. An Khe Lake reached 428.21m, only 0.79m lower; Dong Nai 4 Lake reached 475.37m, 0.63m lower; Da Mi Lake reached 324.02m, only about 1m lower than normal water levels.

In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 55.52m, 6.48m lower than the normal water level.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 8, the Northern Delta region and the south of Phu Tho will have hot sun, with intense hot sun in some places with the highest common temperature of 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C. From the evening of June 8, the North will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain.

The area of Hue city, Da Nang city and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak have intense and especially intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 37-39 degrees Celsius, with some places above 40 degrees Celsius.

The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the late afternoon and evening, there are scattered showers and thunderstorms.
