According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 2:00 PM on June 6th, the upstream water level of Hoa Binh Hydropower Lake was at an elevation of 98.59m, 18.41m lower than the normal water level of 117m, but still 18.59m higher than the dead water level.
The water flow to the reservoir reached 187m3/s, while the total discharge through the plant reached 2,888m3/s. The plant did not discharge through the spillway, did not open deep discharge gates and surface discharge.
Among the group of large hydropower reservoirs in the Northwest region, Son La reservoir has the largest inflow with 1,120m3/s. The reservoir water level reached 194.83m, about 20m lower than the normal water level of 215m.
Lai Chau Lake reached 290.97m, about 4m lower than the normal water level, generating electricity with a flow rate of 498m3/s.
The two lakes Ban Chat and Huoi Quang have water levels of 443.74m and 368.94m respectively. Notably, Huoi Quang lake is only about 0.94m higher than the dead water level.
Meanwhile, Thac Ba reservoir reached an elevation of 49.75m, 8.25m lower than the normal water level and is generating electricity with a flow rate of 212.18m3/s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 6, the midland and delta regions of the Northern region will be hot during the day, with intense heat in some places with the highest temperature commonly 35-36 degrees Celsius, and in some places above 37 degrees Celsius.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang city and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak have hot and intense heat, especially intense in some places with the highest temperature commonly 35-38 degrees C, in some places above 39 degrees C.
The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places, especially in the late afternoon and evening there are scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain in some places.
