According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:00 on June 4, in the Northern region, large hydropower reservoirs on the Da River system all had low water levels.
Hoa Binh Lake reached an altitude of 99.87m, 17.13m lower than the normal water level; Son La Lake is at 194.6m, 20.4m lower; Lai Chau Lake reached 289.69m, 5.31m lower.
Notably, Huoi Quang lake is only about 0.46m higher than the dead water level.
Meanwhile, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded a water level of 98.7m, 21.3m lower than the normal water level.
Lakes in the North Central region such as Trung Son and Ban Ve are also lower by 5.9m and 23.33m respectively compared to the design threshold.
In the South Central region, many hydropower reservoirs maintain a fairly good water level. Song Ba Ha reservoir reached 102.96m above the normal water level of 105m; Song Tranh 2 reservoir reached 161.18m above the threshold of 175m; A Vuong reservoir at 362.26m above the threshold of 380m.
The Central Highlands region recorded a number of lakes with water levels approaching or nearly reaching normal water levels such as Se San 3 (304.5/304.5m), Se San 3A (238.7/239m), Dong Nai 4 (475.53/476m) and Da Mi (324.06/325m).
Meanwhile, Ialy, Pleikrông and Thuong Kon Tum reservoirs are still quite far from the normal water level.
In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 55.76m, 6.24m lower than the normal water level. The inflow to the lake reached 490m3/s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 4, the Northern region will have hot sunny days, with intense heat in some places with the highest temperature above 37 degrees Celsius; from the evening to the afternoon, there will be rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang city and eastern Quang Ngai province has hot and intense heat, especially intense in some places with the highest temperature commonly 36-38 degrees Celsius, in some places above 39 degrees Celsius.
The Southern region in the afternoon and night has showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.
