On the Red River basin rivers, the water level of the Thao River in Lao Cai, Phu Tho and the Red River downstream in Hanoi is decreasing.

Short-term Hydrometeorological Forecast and Warning bulletin issued at 10:30 am on August 12 by the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said:

With the Thao River, the water level at Yen Bai station (Lao Cai province), Phu Tho station is and will continue to decrease slowly.

Monitoring data at Yen Bai station at 7:00 AM on August 12 was at 27.02m, at the same time at Phu Tho station at 13.69m.

For the Lo River, the water level at Tuyen Quang station and Vu Quang station (Phu Tho) is and will continue to change slowly and is mainly affected by the regulation of hydropower on the upper line.

Monitoring data at Tuyen Quang station at 7:00 AM on August 12 was at 15.23m, at the same time at Vu Quang station at 8.40m.

With the Da River, the flow to Hoa Binh reservoir is and will continue to fluctuate according to the above-level hydropower regulation.

At 7:00 AM on August 12, the water level of Hoa Binh Lake was at 38.69m.

With the Red River, the water level downstream of the Red River at the Hanoi Hydrological Station is decreasing.

At 7:00 AM on August 12, the water level at Hanoi station was at 4.57m.

It is forecasted that the water level of the Red River at Hanoi station will decrease on the first day, then change slowly and be affected by tides (Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant closed 1 bottom discharge gate at 10 am on August 12).
