Water levels of hydropower reservoirs in the North on February 9

The water level and operating flow at large hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region are basically stable, the reservoirs mainly discharge water through power plants, not overflowing.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 1:00 PM on February 9th, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded an upstream water level of 113.65m, lower than the normal water level by 6.35m. The water flow to the lake reached 50 m3/s; the total discharge flow was 123.84 m3/s, all through the plant, not discharged through the spillway.

Thac Ba Lake has an upstream water level of 54.93m, lower than the normal water level by more than 3m. The water flow to the lake reaches 90 m3/s; total discharge volume is 190.17 m3/s, all through the power plant.

In the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake maintains an upstream water level of 293.56m, approaching the normal water level (295m). The inflow to the lake reaches 108 m3/s, currently no discharge is carried out.

Ban Chat Lake has an upstream water level of 461.77m, 13.23m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake is only 16 m3/s; the total discharge volume reaches 274 m3/s, all through the plant.

Huo Huoi Quang Lake operates near the normal water level, the upstream water level reaches 369.92m. Water flow to the lake reaches 232 m3/s; total discharge 124 m3/s through the plant.

For Son La reservoir, the upstream water level reached 214.46m, 0.54m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the reservoir reached 250 m3/s; the total discharge flow was at 659 m3/s, all through the plant.

Hoa Binh Lake recorded an upstream water level of 112.49m, lower than the normal water level by 4.51m. Inflow to the lake reached 507 m3/s; total discharge flow 500 m3/s, no overflow discharge.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for February 9th, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places. In the Northern region, it will be very cold, and in the mountainous areas it will be severely cold. The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue city will be cold, especially the North will have very cold in some places.

The area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang city and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai will have rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms.

The Southern region has showers in some places at night, sunny during the day.
