According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 1:00 PM on March 9, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded an upstream water level of 114.29m, lower than the normal water level by 120m. The water flow to the lake is about 99 m3/s and has not yet been discharged.
On the Da River system, some reservoirs are maintaining large discharge flows through the plant. Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 294.76m, close to the normal water level of 295m; water flow to the reservoir is 85 m3/s, but the total discharge through the plant is up to about 700 m3/s.
Son La Lake recorded a water level of 214.96m, close to the normal level of 215m. The water flow to the lake reached about 1,268 m3/s, while the total discharge through the plant was about 435 m3/s.
At Hoa Binh reservoir, the upstream water level is 113.69m, lower than the normal water level by 117m. The water flow to the reservoir is about 40 m3/s and the total discharge through the plant is about 422 m3/s.
Some other reservoirs in the area such as Ban Chat and Huoi Quang are also operating for power generation with discharge flows of about 246 m3/s and 286 m3/s respectively.
Meanwhile, Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 54.9m, a water inflow rate of about 86 m3/s and has not been discharged.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 9th, the Northern region has scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally with moderate to heavy rain. Cold at night and early morning. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places; sunny during the day.
