Water levels of hydropower reservoirs nationwide on March 8th

The water level at many large lakes across the country is at a high level, approaching or close to the normal water level.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 1:30 PM on March 8, in the Northwest region, Son La Lake reached an elevation of 214.83m, close to the normal water level of 215m; water inflow to the lake was 355 m3/s, and the total discharge through the plant was 168 m3/s.

Hoa Binh Lake is at 113.74m, lower than the normal water level by 117m; water flow to the lake is 504 m3/s, total discharge is 220 m3/s through the power plant.

Huo Huoi Quang Lake recorded a water level of 369.79m, close to the normal water level of 370m, water inflow to the lake 257 m3/s, total discharge volume 264 m3/s.

Meanwhile, Ban Chat reservoir reached 447.51m, significantly lower than the normal water level of 475m, with a water inflow to the reservoir of 15 m3/s and a total discharge of 256 m3/s.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 114.3m, 120m lower than the normal water level; water flow to the reservoir is 33 m3/s, total discharge is 122.42 m3/s through the plant.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake reached 158.52m, the water inflow and discharge through the plant were both at 77 m3/s. Khe Bo Lake recorded a water inflow rate of 119.31 m3/s, total discharge rate of 95.5 m3/s.

In the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions, most hydropower reservoirs are operating to generate electricity with small discharge flows, mainly through plants.

Some reservoirs with notable water inflows such as Song Tranh 2 (62.4 m3/s), Song Bung 4 (62.22 m3/s), Pleikrông (70 m3/s) and Buôn Kuốp (109 m3/s).

Notably, Tri An Lake (Southeast region) recorded a water level of 61.72m, close to the normal water level of 62m, with a water inflow to the lake of 90 m3/s and no water discharge yet.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 8th, the Northern region has rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered; especially the delta and coastal areas tonight and tomorrow morning will have rain, scattered light rain. Cold at night and early morning.

The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places, sunny during the day.
