Large hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region are basically lower than the normal water level, while many reservoirs still maintain power generation with large discharge flows.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 9:00 am on June 14, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake had an upstream water level of 98.03 m, nearly 22 m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 106 m3/s, the total discharge volume was 163.07 m3/s, all through the power plant.

In the Northwest region, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded the largest water inflow to the reservoir in the area, reaching 2,356 m3/s. Total discharge reached 1,864 m3/s, the reservoir water level was at an elevation of 99.81 m, 17.19 m lower than the normal water level.

Son La Lake has a water level of 195.8 m, water inflow to the lake reaches 675 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,193 m3/s. Lai Chau Lake has a water inflow to the lake of 884 m3/s and a total discharge volume 1,064 m3/s, the current water level is at an elevation of 287.38 m.

Meanwhile, Huoi Quang Lake has a water level of 369.71 m, only 0.29 m lower than the normal water level, which is the lake with the water level closest to the normal water level in the area. Ban Chat Lake reached an altitude of 447.96 m, about 27 m lower than the normal water level.

For Thac Ba Lake, the water level reached 49.45 m, the water inflow to the lake was 70 m3/s and water discharge was not carried out at the time of update.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 14, the Northern region will be hot and sunny, with intense heat in some places. From tomorrow evening, the Northern region will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain, especially the delta area will have showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will be hot, with intense heat in some places with the highest daily temperature commonly 35-37 degrees Celsius, in some places above 38 degrees Celsius.

The Central Highlands and Southern regions will have showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the late afternoon and evening, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
