According to updated data at 2:00 PM on August 20, hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region have a significant difference in water levels and flow. Some reservoirs are having large inflows, while maintaining discharge with high flows.
In the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake recorded an upstream water level of 293.97 m, 295 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow reached 1,287 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,492 m3/s.
Ban Chat Lake is at 470.56 m, 475 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake is 121 m3/s, total discharge is 87 m3/s.
Huo Huoi Quang Lake reached 368.64 m, lower than the normal water level by 370 m. Water flowing to the lake is 203 m3/s, total discharge is 254 m3/s.
Notably, Son La Lake has a water level of 196.54 m, which is 215 m lower than the normal water level. The inflow to the lake reached 2,477 m3/s, with a total discharge volume of 2,369 m3/s.
At Hoa Binh reservoir, the upstream water level reached 104.01 m, lower than the normal water level by 117 m. The water flow to the reservoir was 2,873 m3/s, with a total discharge volume of up to 4,396 m3/s.
In which, the discharge volume through the spillway is 1,548 m3/s, through the plant is 2,848 m3/s. The lake is opening 1 deep discharge gate.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 102.69 m, 120 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the reservoir is 620 m3/s, total discharge is 763.53 m3/s.
Thac Ba Lake is at 54.22 m, lower than the normal water level by 58 m. Inflow to the lake 430 m3/s, total discharge 455.05 m3/s.
