According to updated data from the reservoir operation management system at 6:20 am on July 29, hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region were all lower than the normal water level.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has an upstream water level of 107.49 m, 120 m lower than the normal water level. Water flow to the reservoir reached 1,562 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,262.91 m3/s, of which discharge through the spillway 510 m3/s, through the plant 716.91 m3/s and maintaining 1 deep discharge gate.

In the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 288.02 m, water inflow to the lake is 1,844 m3/s, total discharge is 1,575 m3/s, all through the plant. Ban Chat Lake reached 470.32 m, water inflow to the lake is 539 m3/s, total discharge is 243 m3/s. Huoi Quang Lake has a water level of 369.77 m, water inflow to the lake is 356 m3/s, total discharge is 340 m3/s.

Son La Lake recorded a water level of 198.14 m, water inflow to the lake of 3,527 m3/s, total discharge volume of 3, 249 m3/s, all through the power plant.

Notably, Hoa Binh reservoir has a water level of 100.56 m, the water flow to the reservoir reaches 3,990 m3/s, while the total discharge volume is 4,473 m3/s, including 1,476 m3/s through the spillway and 2,997 m3/s through the plant. The reservoir is maintaining 1 deep discharge gate to regulate the flow.

Meanwhile, Thac Ba reservoir has a water level of 52.22 m, water inflow to the reservoir is 633 m3/s, total discharge is 445.41 m3/s, all through the plant.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on July 29, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms in the early morning, with locally very heavy rain in some places. From the afternoon of July 29, widespread heavy rain in the Northern region is likely to gradually decrease.

The Central Highlands and Southern regions have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain.

Warning of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall greater than 100mm within 3 hours.
