According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 1:30 PM on March 31, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake was at an altitude of 115.25m, 4.75m lower than the normal water level.
The water flow to the reservoir reached 50 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant was 120.74 m3/s.
In the Northwest region, reservoirs on the Da River system continue to operate for power generation.
Lai Chau Lake reached 291.01m, nearly 4m lower than the normal water level; water flow to the lake is 245 m3/s, total discharge is 445 m3/s.
Son La Lake reached 213.97m, water entering the lake 553 m3/s and is generating electricity with a total discharge volume of 256 m3/s.
Notably, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded the largest inflow in the area with 1,149 m3/s. The reservoir water level is at an elevation of 115.92m, about 1m lower than the normal water level; total discharge volume for electricity generation is 577 m3/s.
Meanwhile, some lakes have low water inflow and have not generated electricity. Ban Chat Lake reached 431.03m, only 0.03m higher than the dead water level; Huoi Quang Lake reached 369.85m, 0.15m lower than the normal water level.
Thac Ba Lake is at 53.54m, 4.46m lower than the normal water level, and has not yet been discharged.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 31st, the Northern Delta region will be hot with the highest temperature commonly 35 - 36 degrees C, with some places above 36 degrees C.
The Southern region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places at night, sunny during the day, with hot sun in some places; especially the East will be hot during the day.
