According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 4:00 PM on June 8th, on the Da River system, Hoa Binh Hydropower reservoir recorded an upstream water level at an elevation of 97.52m, 19.48m lower than the normal water level (117m). The reservoir is currently having a water flow of 1,195m3/s, while the total water discharge through the plant reached 3,048m3/s.
Son La Hydropower Lake reached an elevation of 195.92m, 19.08m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 1, 992m3/s, the total amount of water generated for electricity is 1,458m3/s.
At Lai Chau reservoir, the water level reached 288.37m, 6.63m lower than the normal water level. The reservoir is generating electricity with a discharge flow of 1,601m3/s.
The two lakes Ban Chat and Huoi Quang currently have water levels of 444.54m and 368.46m respectively. In which, Huoi Quang lake is only about 1.5m lower than the normal water level of 370m.
In addition, Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 49.52m, 8.48m lower than the normal water level; Tuyen Quang Lake is at 98.05m, nearly 22m lower than the design elevation of 120m.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 8, the Northern Delta region and the south of Phu Tho will have hot sun, with intense hot sun in some places with the highest common temperature of 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C. From the evening of June 8, the North will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain.
The area of Hue city, Da Nang city and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak have intense and especially intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 37-39 degrees Celsius, with some places above 40 degrees Celsius.
The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the late afternoon and evening, there are scattered showers and thunderstorms.
