Many hydropower reservoirs across the country on July 8 are still lower than the normal water level, some large reservoirs in the Northwest region recorded high water flow.

As of 11:00 AM on July 8th, according to data from the reservoir operation monitoring system, the water level at most large hydropower reservoirs is still below the normal water level.

In the Northwest area, Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir has an upstream water level of 103.05 m, 13.95 m lower than the normal water level of 117 m. Water flow to the reservoir reached 3,513 m3/s, total discharge flow 2,748 m3/s, all through the plant, without operating discharge gates.

Son La Lake has a water level of 194.71 m, 20.29 m lower than the normal water level of 215 m. Inflow to the lake reached 3,435 m3/s, total discharge flow of 3,079 m3/s.

Lai Chau Lake recorded a water level of 283.66 m, 11.34 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake reached 1,725 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,489 m3/s.

At Huoi Quang Lake, the water level reached 369.52 m, only 0.48 m lower than the normal water level of 370 m. Ban Chat Lake reached 457.03 m, 17.97 m lower than the normal water level.

In the Northeast area, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 107.5 m, 12.5 m lower than the normal water level. The reservoir is discharging a total of 1,225.72 m3/s, of which 510 m3/s is through the spillway and 715.72 m3/s through the plant, maintaining 1 deep discharge gate.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake reached 158.82 m, still 1.18 m away from the normal water level, with a total discharge flow of 422 m3/s. Ban Ve Lake has a water level of 170.25 m, 29.75 m lower than the normal water level and has not yet discharged water.

In the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions, most reservoirs continue to maintain water levels below normal water levels. Notably, Thuong Kon Tum reservoir reached 1,144.08 m, 15.92 m lower; Ialy reservoir reached 492.9 m, 22.1 m lower; Pleiku reservoir reached 546 m, 24 m lower than normal water levels.
