After the first storms of the season, in contrast to the drought that lasted for many months before, the Red River in Lao Cai has overflowed.
At this time, the river water level is starting to recede slowly, revealing sand dunes and bushes along the river. In practice, observing the Phu Thinh Bridge area, Pho Moi Bridge and Coc Leu Bridge, changes in the water level of the Red River can be seen.

Regularly exercising on the banks of the Red River on An Duong Vuong Street, Lao Cai Ward, Mr. Nguyen Duc Huan shared: "The last time there was storm No. 5, the whole province had a lot of rain. We also often go to the riverbank to exercise and see the water level of the Red River through the old Lao Cai city rising, but not significantly. The river water has been receding rapidly in the past few days, fortunately only a few places are flooded.
According to the Lao Cai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, the water level of rivers and streams in the area is currently fluctuating slightly due to the regulation of upstream hydroelectric reservoirs, but they are all below alert level I.

It is forecasted that in the next 12-2 346 hours, floods on the Red River will continue to decrease at alert level 1, alert level 2.
The authorities recommend that people absolutely not be subjective. Households living along the river need to closely monitor warnings and prepare timely evacuation plans to ensure the safety of life and property.

People in mountainous areas need to be especially vigilant against flash floods and landslides that can suddenly occur, sweep away houses, crops, and damage ponds and aquaculture lakes.
