A leader of the People's Committee of Thach My commune informed that at around 2:20 p.m. on October 15, a group of 4 children including: Pham Van H (born in 2010, residing in Bao An village, Thach My commune), Duong Phu T (born in 2012, residing in Yen Diem village, Thinh Loc commune), Nguyen Minh V (born in 2012, residing in village 4, Binh An commune), Nguyen Ngoc Gia B (born in 2012, residing in Yen Diem village, Thinh Loc commune) invited each other to go swimming in Nghen river at the foot of Do Diem bridge.
While playing, before bathing, 4 children fell into the river. Immediately after, an older child saved 2 children to the shore, but Nguyen Ngoc Gia B unfortunately drowned and went missing.
The information was then reported to the authorities to coordinate with local people to organize a search. By 4:00 p.m. the same day, the body of child B was found and handed over to the family to organize the funeral.
