In the context of increasingly complex climate change, sustainable development and green growth have become an inevitable trend for many countries around the world. At the COP26 Conference, Vietnam made a strong commitment to achieving the goal of net zero emissions by 2050, demonstrating its determination to accompany the international community in responding to climate change and green economic development.
This strategic orientation continues to be affirmed in the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, with a focus on building a new growth model based on the digital economy, green economy, circular economy; promoting digital transformation, green transformation and energy transformation. At the same time, in the face of global energy market fluctuations, the Prime Minister issued Directive No. 09/CT-TTg on strengthening energy saving, promoting energy transition and developing electric vehicles.
In order to contribute to realizing the major policies of the Party and State, promoting the green transformation process in Vietnam, Lao Dong Newspaper coordinates with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Hanoi City People's Committee to organize Green Transformation Day 2026 with the theme: "Green Transformation - Driving force for Vietnam's new growth model". The event will take place from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM on May 16, 2026, at Cau Giay Park, Cau Giay ward, Hanoi city.
The Green Transformation Day 2026 event is organized with the expectation of becoming a connecting forum between management agencies, businesses, experts and the community in the journey of building a green economy, sustainable development and raising social awareness about environmental protection.
Within the framework of the program, at 8:30 am on May 16, a series of art exchange activities will take place with the participation of artists and singers loved by the public. Through art performances, inspiring exchanges and sharing real stories, the program hopes to spread positive messages about environmental protection, energy saving, greenhouse gas emission reduction and changing consumption habits towards green and sustainable development.
In particular, the highlight of Green Transformation Day 2026 is the exhibition and experience of electric vehicles and the "Gasoline exchange for electricity" program implemented by Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with units.
In the experience area, participants will have the opportunity to directly visit, learn about and test drive new electric vehicles, access modern battery technology as well as the charging station infrastructure ecosystem that is being strongly developed. In parallel with that, the "Gasoline to Electricity" program will bring many preferential policies, support and practical advice to encourage people to switch from vehicles using internal combustion engines to electric vehicles.
The electric car experience activity will take place throughout May 16, 2026, promising to bring a vibrant, modern and practical interactive space for the people of the Capital and participating tourists.
Through Green Transformation Day 2026, the Organizing Committee wishes to contribute to raising community awareness about the role of green transformation in socio-economic development; and at the same time promote the joint efforts of the whole society in the journey towards a green Vietnam, sustainable development and prosperity in the future.
