Subtracting driving license points for 1,109 cases. Of which, 1,836 cases were handled for alcohol concentration violations, 2,021 cases were handled for speeding violations, 46 cases were handled for overloaded goods; 18 cases were limited to excess, 4 cases were drug violations.
For waterways, the police discovered and handled 124 cases, fined 129 million VND.
For the railway, the police discovered 3 violations and fined 2 million VND.
The National Traffic Safety Committee said that on May 3, there were 51 road traffic accidents nationwide, killing 26 people and injuring 31 people (no railway or waterway accidents). Compared to the 4th day of the 2024 holiday, there will be a decrease of 34 cases, 26 deaths, and 27 injuries.
Regarding traffic congestion, in Hanoi and neighboring localities, there were no traffic congestion or accidents during the day. At the gateways to the city and expressways such as Phap Van - Cau Gie, Giai Phong - Giap Bat, National Highway 1, Ring Road 3, Noi Bai, Hanoi - Lao Cai expressway access road, Gia Lam bus station area, Vinh Tuy bridge, Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway access road (Co Linh) and National Highway 5, Tran Duy Hung - Pham Hung intersection, traffic volume increased slightly as people started moving to Hanoi, no traffic congestion occurred. Hanoi's inner-city routes towards the central area such as Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Hai Ba Trung... have stable traffic volume and vehicles, strictly complying with traffic lights.
In Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring localities: The Rach Mieu Bridge area is crowded with vehicles, moving slowly, and there is no congestion. In the inner city of Ho Chi Minh City, the traffic volume is normal and moving stably. On National Highway 1, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway, the traffic volume is stable, there is no traffic congestion.
The National Traffic Safety Committee assessed that on May 3, 2025 (4th day off), traffic situation at key gateways, beltways and expressways of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City is still guaranteed to be smooth, without traffic congestion or traffic accidents.
The traffic police force has proactively regulated and divided the flow effectively, preventing congestion. The handling of violations, especially alcohol concentration and speed, has been drastically increased. In general, the traffic situation was well controlled, ensuring safety for people.
