On March 9, according to information from the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Office, after two stages of administrative unit arrangement (2019 - 2021 and 2023 - 2025), the number of commune-level units in the whole province decreased from 460 to 412, in 20 districts, cities and towns. The total number of cadres, civil servants and part-time workers in these units is 15,918 people.
Previously, on February 28, 2025, the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued an Official Letter requesting departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to implement contents related to the organizational arrangement.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requires "the process of arranging the apparatus and assigning cadres must be fair and objective in the spirit of "from selecting people", retaining capable cadres, not allowing "gray bleeding", not allowing complex internal problems to arise.

This project will be submitted to the Party Central Committee before April 7, 2025.
