On the morning of January 1, 2026, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An, in coordination with Vietnam Airlines Corporation, Vinh International Airport and Vinh Airport Authority, organized a flight welcoming the first tourists to Nghe An in the new year. The event marked the start of local tourism activities in 2026.
Previously, on the evening of December 31, 2025, at Light Square - VinWonders Cua Hoi, the countdown program to welcome the new year 2026 took place vibrantly, estimated to attract more than 50,000 people and tourists to attend. The festival atmosphere and art performances created highlights, spreading the image of a dynamic, friendly and hospitable Nghe An.
According to the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the series of New Year's Eve activities is the opening step for the 2026 tourism season, contributing to promoting destinations and creating momentum to attract tourists to Nghe An in the coming time.
