On February 3, Ba Ria General Hospital (Tam Long ward, Ho Chi Minh City) received and treated dozens of patients with symptoms of food poisoning.
As of the afternoon of February 3, there were 46 cases of patients coming for treatment with symptoms of fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea,... diagnosed due to food poisoning. Some cases have been sent home for monitoring, and many cases have to be hospitalized for further treatment.
These cases are all suspected of using food provided by G.M restaurant on January 31st. However, there are cases where symptoms start on February 1st, and there are cases where symptoms appear on February 2nd.
Regarding the incident, on January 2nd, Xuyen Moc Commune Health Station (where the headquarters of G.M restaurant is located) received information and came to verify. On January 31st, G.M restaurant received catering services for a unit in Ba Ria ward with about 170 customers. The food in the party was still stored at the establishment and sampled for testing by functional agencies. This establishment also presented a certificate of eligibility for food safety and hygiene; ensuring food safety conditions at the establishment.
