According to Lao Dong Newspaper, in early April 2025, provincial road 435 - the main route connecting Hoa Binh city with the lake area, had many serious landslides at Km27+750 and Km28+400, in Suoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district.
At the scene, the repair work has not been completed, and many sections of the road are still in disarray. Temporary barriers made of bamboo stakes and warning ropes were erected to warn traffic participants.
The road surface is seriously peeling, with a series of long cracks and deep holes appearing, making travel through this area dangerous and full of risks.

Mr. Le Sy Hao (53 years old, trading at Ngoi Hoa port) said that the landslide phenomenon was caused by prolonged consequences of heavy rain and the impact of storm No. 2 in July 2024.
"This route plays a key role in connecting the hydroelectric reservoir area with the district center, serving the travel, production and living needs of the people. However, the serious landslide has made travel difficult, directly affecting the lives of many households," said Mr. Hao.
Faced with serious degradation, Hoa Binh province has approved an investment policy of more than 71.2 billion VND to build two permanent overpasses with reinforced concrete to replace them. The bridge at Km27+750 is 8 spans long, the bridge at Km28+400 includes 9 spans, 9m wide, using bored piles, modern structure, ensuring long-term safety.
According to the Department of Construction, the design documents were approved on March 26, 2025, and the contractor selection work is being urgently completed. The project is expected to start construction on April 15, 2025 and be completed in mid-September 2025.
The early restoration of this route not only ensures traffic and safety for people but also creates conditions to promote tourism and production development in the lake area - which is being oriented to become a key destination of the province.
