On the afternoon of October 28, in Tra Giac village, Tra Tan commune, Da Nang city, a serious landslide occurred right on the hillside near National Highway 40B, near the intersection to the new Tra Giap commune.
The scene recorded thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil falling from above, creating a horrifying scene, dusty and the sound of rock and soil echoing throughout the area. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.

At the time of the incident, many people were still traveling on the road when the entire hillside suddenly collapsed, the stream of rocks and soil rolled loudly, dragging trees and mud and water to the national highway surface. The landslide happened so quickly that many people in traffic had to brake suddenly and turn around to avoid being buried.
Witnessnesses at the scene said that before that, this area had prolonged heavy rain, the soil on the hillside had been soaked with water for many days, creating conditions for a sudden slide to appear. "I heard the sound of cracks and just a few seconds later, rocks and soil poured down like a waterfall. Everyone panicked and ran away, a resident recounted.

Immediately after the incident, the authorities of Tra Tan commune were present, erected warning fences, temporarily blocked the road, and instructed people and vehicles to stay away from the dangerous area.
The rain is still continuing, the risk of further landslides is very high. Local authorities recommend that people do not stop, park, film or be curious in the slope area, and proactively choose another route until the authorities have finished fixing it.
The authorities are inspecting the entire surrounding area, assessing the risk of widespread landslides, and mobilizing machinery to urgently level and clear National Highway 40B - the main traffic route connecting the mountainous areas of the western part of Da Nang with Quang Nam.
