On February 18, the leader of the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Transport said that from today, the department will stop issuing new driving licenses.
However, the procedures for changing and reissuing licenses continue to facilitate people, helping to save time and costs.
On the same morning, at the Dak Lak Provincial Public Administration Center, the number of people coming to do procedures to change and reissue driving licenses increased dramatically.
Ms. Hoang Thi Tam, Deputy Director of the center, said that the number of visitors was double compared to normal days. In this situation, the center has arranged additional staff to guide, ensure order, and avoid jostling.
"We ask people not to be impatient or speculative, follow the instructions and wait for their turn. Thanks to that, security and order at the center are guaranteed, no sudden push-ups occur," said Ms. Tam.
Previously, the Dak Lak Department of Transport announced the suspension of conducting driving tests for cars and motorbikes from February 18. At the same time, the reception of new driving license applications will stop before February 19, 2025.
This move is to prepare for the handover of driving test testing and licensing tasks from the Ministry of Transport to the Ministry of Public Security under new regulations.
