On April 23, Phu Canh Commune Police (Quang Trach District, Quang Binh Province) said that the unit had just received a small Culi individual weighing about 300g discovered by local people and voluntarily handed over.
The person who handed over the goods was Mr. Hoang Anh Quyen (born in 1996, residing in Tien Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa district). Mr. Quyen said he had encountered this animal on the road and decided to bring it to the Phu Canh Commune Police headquarters to hand it over.
Immediately after receiving the body, the police completed the procedures and handed over the Cu li individual to the Quang Trach District Forest Protection Department for further care and handling according to regulations.
The small reptile mentioned above has the scientific name Nycticebus pygmaeus Bonhote, belonging to Group IB - a group of endangered and rare forest animals that are given priority for protection according to the provisions of law.
