According to Lao Dong Newspaper, this road section is currently in serious disrepair. Although it has been reported since 2022, it has not been maintained or repaired, causing public anger.
Ms. Hoang Thi Be (Quyt 2 village, Tuy Lai commune, My Duc district, Hanoi) said that the road was degraded due to the dredging and construction of Giua Quyt village pond into a sports area for people in the commune at the end of 2022. At that time, excavators, cranes, and heavy trucks carrying cement and steel bars traveled frequently, causing many sections of the road to crack and break, forming potholes over time.
According to Ms. Be, on sunny days it is dusty, on rainy days the damaged sections have puddles and mud puddles that pose many dangers to people.
Also facing the same difficulties while traveling on this road, Mr. Phung Van De (75 years old, Quyt 2 village) said that this is the main road with hundreds of students going to Tuy Lai A Primary School and Tuy Lai Secondary School every day. Many people in the village travel and transport goods to earn a living. According to Mr. De, there are sections of the road that are damaged, flooded nearly 30cm deep, with potholes causing many people to fall.
"People in the commune hope that the local government will quickly overcome this situation," Mr. De expressed.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Director in charge of the My Duc District Project Management Board - said that at the end of 2022, My Duc District will invest in dredging the Quyt 1 and Quyt 2 lakes in Giua Quyt village, Tuy Lai commune. However, the nearly 2km degraded road adjacent to the pond area is not included in the project to build and renovate these two ponds.
According to Ms. Huong, although she has received many complaints from people at meetings with voters about the rural roads around the pond in Giua Quyt village being degraded and dangerous for travelers, it is not yet included in the infrastructure construction plan. In addition, the district budget is still limited, so it is not possible to build a new road, as people wish.
“Given the serious degradation and the actual travel needs of people and students in Tuy Lai commune, the Project Management Board has reported to the People's Committee of My Duc district, presenting a plan to renovate and upgrade the road around the village pond in Tuy Lai commune to carry out investment work as soon as possible,” Ms. Huong informed.
