The identities of the 8 victims include: P.N.D.D (born in 1985), D.T.N.A (born in 1987), P.K.S (born in 2014), P.N.A (born in 2018), N.T.H.H (born in 1952), H.H.H (born in 1950), H.T.H.P (born in 1984) and L.T.H.Q (born in 1977).
According to records, there were 4 victims in the same family: Mr. N.D.D (born in 1985, from Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa); Ms. D.T.N.A (born in 1987, from Ninh Binh, Mr. D's wife). Son P.K (born in 2014) and daughter P.N.A (born in 2018).
People at the scene said that Mr. D's family usually has 5 members living there every day. In addition to Mr. D and his wife and two young children, there is also an old lady. A few days ago, Mr. D's family went on a trip and sent her to a relative's house.
On the afternoon of July 5, Mr. D and his wife returned but were still tired so they had not welcomed her back, so when the fire broke out, she was not at the scene.
Also this morning, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will go to the scene and visit people in the fire at Doc Lap Shelter (5 floors) on Do Doc Long Street, Phu Tho Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
As Lao Dong reported, the fire broke out at around 10:00 p.m. on July 6 at the ground floor of Doc Lap residence on Do Doc Long Street, Phu Tho Hoa Ward. The fire broke out fiercely and spread quickly, causing people to panic.
The Ho Chi Minh City Fire Police force mobilized more than 10 fire trucks and dozens of soldiers to the scene. The working groups quickly deployed a fire extinguishing and rescue plan. However, due to the fire breaking out too quickly, plus the multi-layered iron doors, it was very difficult to approach the scene.
