At about 9:10 p.m. on August 15, at km 54+600, National Highway 5 (Hanoi - Hai Phong afternoon), in Hai Duong ward, Hai Phong city, a serious traffic accident occurred between a passenger car and two pedestrians.
The passenger bus driven by Mr. Vu Ngoc K (Nam Dong Hung commune, Hung Yen province) was traveling in the direction of Hanoi - Hai Phong, colliding with a woman and a child walking from the median strip to the right edge of the road.
The accident caused a woman to die at Hai Duong General Hospital, the child was seriously injured and is being treated at Hai Duong Children's Hospital. After checking, driver Vu Ngoc K did not violate alcohol or drug concentrations.
The cause of the incident is currently being further investigated and clarified by the authorities. The accident once again sounded a warning about ensuring traffic safety on national highways, especially at night and in areas with high pedestrian traffic.
